Firearms and tactical training for actors and stunt people.

Actors who portray characters using firearms in movies and TV shows must master the skill of handling weapons realistically to add authenticity to their auditions and performances.  Our classes are designed to teach actors how to safely and effectively handle dummy firearms, allowing them to bring a level of realism to their performances that is critical to creating believable characters.

Numerous famous actors have made notable mistakes when using firearms in movies, which can detract from the overall realism of the performance. However, there are also many examples of actors who have skillfully portrayed characters using pistols in award-winning shows and films. For instance, in the TV series “Breaking Bad” Bryan Cranston’s character, Walter White, becomes a proficient user of firearms throughout the show, adding to the intense realism of the series. Similarly, in the Oscar-winning film “No Country for Old Men,” Javier Bardem’s character, Anton Chigurh, uses a silenced pistol in a chillingly realistic manner, adding to the tense atmosphere of the movie.

Our classes focus on teaching actors the proper techniques for handling firearms, including grip, stance, and movement, in addition to conveying appropriate emotions and reactions when using firearms. Our classes are hands-on, allowing actors to practice and refine their skills with dummy firearms in a safe and controlled environment. By the end of our classes, actors will have the skills and knowledge to handle firearms realistically and confidently, enabling them to create authentic characters that use weapons in a convincing manner.

Using non-functional replicas, known as “blue guns,” our class provides actors with a safe and effective way to learn how to handle firearms realistically. These training tools are designed to look and feel like real firearms, but they are completely safe to use as they are incapable of firing live ammunition. Many blue guns are equipped with detachable magazines, which allow actors to practice reloading the firearm realistically, as well as more complex training scenarios, such as malfunction drills. This ensures that actors can learn correct techniques and portray characters who use firearms safely and convincingly, without the risk of injury or damage that comes with using live firearms on set.

The class is taught by David Parke, former Army Airborne Ranger, bodyguard, and sniper. David is a Special Operations veteran with years of combat experience in Iraq and Afghanistan, and is the recipient of the National Intelligence Medal for Valor. He co-hosts The Team House podcast and is currently working as a technical advisor on a popular Netflix show.
